A positive trend was observed in Asian markets during the trading day of the week. Except for Hong Kong, major indices across the region posted gains.

In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 index rose 1.53 percent to 8,626.30 points. In India, the NIFTY 50 index gained 0.56 percent to reach 23,791.55 points.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index traded at 25,648.28 points with a limited decline of 0.01 percent, while in China, the Shanghai Composite index remained flat (0.00 percent) at 4,162.371 points.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index recorded a 3.63 percent increase, rising to 61,974.70 points.
