Gains dominate US stock markets
Istanbul, May 21 (Hibya) - A buying trend was observed in US markets during the trading day of the week.
A positive trend was observed in US markets during the trading day of the week. All major indices ended the day with strong gains, while the fear index (VIX) declined.
The Dow Jones (DJIA) index rose 1.31 percent to 50,009.35 points. The S&P 500 index gained 1.08 percent, reaching 7,432.97 points.
The Nasdaq index, dominated by technology stocks, traded at 26,270.359 points with a 1.54 percent increase, while the Russell 2000 (RUSS 2K) index reached 2,817.365 points with a strong rise of 2.56 percent.
The VIX index, which measures market volatility, fell 3.43 percent to 17.44 points.
