Gerapetritis meets with Swiss Foreign Minister Cassis
Athens, May 22 (Hibya)- Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis met with Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.
According to a statement from the Greek Foreign Ministry, Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis met with Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.
Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis stated that it was a great pleasure and honor to host Vice President of the Swiss Confederation and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis in Athens today.
Stating that the meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the excellent level of bilateral relations, Gerapetritis said: “Greece and Switzerland are connected by a long and deep friendship based on historical ties and shared values. We share the same views on many issues of international importance; we believe in the strength of multilateral diplomacy, democracy, the rule of law and human rights.”
Referring to Switzerland's international roles, Gerapetritis stated: “These values and principles, Mr. Minister, coincide with your priorities during your 2026 presidency of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.”
Drawing attention to the geopolitical issues discussed during the meeting, Minister Gerapetritis said: “Today, we had the opportunity to exchange views on the current geopolitical developments in the world, the Eastern Mediterranean and the broader Middle East.”
Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis concluded his remarks by emphasizing his country’s foreign policy vision, saying: “Greece supports resolving differences through negotiation and dialogue.”
