Merz: Settler violence in the West Bank has reached unprecedented levels
Berlin, May 22 (Hibya)- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made statements regarding tensions in the region and the diplomatic steps necessary to achieve lasting peace.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz drew attention to the increasing settler violence in the West Bank and announced that together with the United Kingdom, France and Italy, they have called on Israel to stop settlement expansion.
Expressing concerns about the humanitarian and security situation in the region, Merz said: “Settler violence in the West Bank has reached unprecedented levels. Together with the United Kingdom, France and Italy, we call on Israel to end settlement expansion.”
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz concluded his remarks by emphasizing Germany’s core foreign policy vision for resolving the crisis, stating that together with its strategic partners they will continue working “for a comprehensive and just peace based on a two-state solution.”
