Ghebreyesus: Ending Chagas disease is also a social responsibility
Geneva, April 14 (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that ending Chagas disease is not only a medical necessity but also a social responsibility.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus explained that Chagas disease affects more than 7 million people and causes the death of over 10,000 people each year.
He emphasized that this can be changed through prevention, control, and care, and stressed that ending Chagas disease is also a collective societal obligation.
