Ghebreyesus: Neglected tropical diseases still affect more than 1 billion people
Geneva, January 30 (Hibya) – The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that neglected tropical diseases still affect more than 1 billion people.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus explained that over the past 20 years, more than 50 countries have successfully eliminated at least one neglected tropical disease with the support of WHO and special programs funded by donors.
He called on all partners to "Unite, Act, Eliminate" because neglected tropical diseases still affect more than 1 billion people.
