Guterres: I call on all parties to exercise restraint
New York, June 14 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned Israel's strikes on Beirut.
Guterres expressed concern over rising tensions in the region, noting that the attacks took place while a ceasefire was still in effect.
In his statement, Guterres also referred to the ongoing diplomatic contacts between the United States and Iran, saying that an escalation of hostilities at a time when these talks could contribute to a peaceful solution poses a significant risk.
Guterres called on all parties to exercise restraint and stressed the importance of supporting the diplomatic process.
