Guterres: Kofi Annan was a global pioneer for peace
New York, August 18 (Hibya) - United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in a post marking the seventh anniversary of the death of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, said Annan was both a mentor and a friend to him and that his legacy of peace continues to inspire his work.
United Nations Secretary-General Guterres shared a post on his social media account marking the seventh anniversary of the death of former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
Guterres said, “Kofi Annan was my mentor and my friend.”
Noting that seven years have passed since Annan’s death, Guterres described the former UN Secretary-General as “a guiding force for good.”
Guterres said Annan’s legacy as a global pioneer for peace continues to be a source of inspiration in his life and work.
