Guterres: The UN stands with Syria at this critical moment
Damascus, July 25 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres announced that he had arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on a solidarity visit and called on the international community to support the Syrian people.
In a message released during his visit to Damascus, UN Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized the UN's support for Syria and the responsibility that the international community must assume.
Clearly explaining the purpose of his visit and the UN's position, Guterres said: "I have just arrived in Damascus on a solidarity visit. My message is clear: the UN stands with Syria at this critical moment."
Addressing the international community, Guterres said: "I call on the international community to make every possible effort to support the Syrian people."
