United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that the conflicts in the region must be stopped.

Referring to proposals for resolving the situation in the region, Guterres said, “There is no military solution to the Middle East crisis. Serious negotiations must resume.”

Emphasizing that the ceasefire should be extended if necessary, Guterres said, “The ceasefire must be preserved and extended when needed.”

Drawing attention to the security of international trade routes and legal rights, Guterres stated, “And the international rights and freedoms of navigation, including through the Strait of Hormuz, must be respected by all parties.”
