US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said media reports do not reflect the truth, drawing attention to the ship's personnel and the stance of the armed forces.

Criticizing media outlets and emphasizing the sailors' sense of duty, Hegseth said, "The reckless and shameless 'American' media is completely and deliberately misrepresenting the USS Abraham Lincoln. The brave sailors of this strike group are extremely proud of their difficult and historic mission."

Emphasizing his support for the military units, Hegseth concluded his statement by saying, "They represent resilience and excellence. The Department of Defense, the US Navy and CENTCOM have their backs."
