Herzog stated: “The burning of sacred books, the spray-painting of cross symbols, and the attempt to burn Torah scrolls in the synagogue of Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef in Jerusalem are repulsive. I call for swift and decisive action to investigate this serious hate crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
