According to CCTV, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the talks between Iran and the United States have reached the final stage of a 14-point draft agreement.

Baghaei noted that the draft does not contain any articles that would harm Iran’s national interests, adding that the demand for the lifting of sanctions is included in the text.

US President Donald Trump said that the two countries are “very close” to an agreement. According to CBS News, the draft includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the release of some Iranian assets, and the continuation of negotiations.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also stated that progress had been made in the talks with Iran, but Washington’s position against Iran developing nuclear weapons remains unchanged.
