According to CCTV, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, one of Iran's main military command centers, said commercial vessels and oil tankers cannot safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz without the permission and supervision of the Iranian Armed Forces.

Headquarters spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari said in a video message published by Iranian media that the Strait of Hormuz, as in the past, remains under Iran's full control and administration.

Zolfaghari described U.S. statements that vessels were passing normally through the Strait of Hormuz as “unrealistic.” He said they were monitoring U.S. military activities in the region and that Iran would respond to threats against its national sovereignty and interests.

The statement came after U.S. President Donald Trump claimed on his social media account that the United States had established “full control” over the Strait of Hormuz.

Following joint Israeli and U.S. attacks on Iranian territory on February 28, Iran tightened its measures in the Strait of Hormuz and blocked the safe passage of vessels belonging to Israel and the United States or linked to those countries.
