Tehran, July 17 (Hibya) - Iran's Army Public Relations Office announced that Iranian forces have launched drone attacks targeting United States (U.S.) military facilities in Bahrain.

According to a statement issued early Friday, the attacks were carried out as part of the 11th phase of "Operation Lightning."
The Iranian military said the drone strikes targeted military facilities at Shaikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, where U.S. military helicopters and P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft are deployed.
Iran claimed the attacks were retaliation for recent U.S. strikes on Iran's urban infrastructure and the civilian casualties caused by those attacks.
Iran's Foreign Ministry also condemned on Thursday the U.S. attacks targeting civilian facilities and the country's infrastructure.
It was also alleged that attacks on residential areas in Bandar Abbas caused casualties and power outages in several neighborhoods.
