Israel approves national artificial intelligence program
Jerusalem, 16 June (Hibya) - The Israeli government has approved a comprehensive national AI program aimed at positioning the country as a global leader in artificial intelligence. The program includes infrastructure, R&D, human capital development, and transformation of public services.
The Israeli government, on the proposal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has approved the “National Artificial Intelligence Program,” aiming to make Israel one of the world leaders in AI.
Netanyahu emphasized that artificial intelligence is not only a technological advancement but a revolution that will transform the economy, security, health, and education sectors. He stated that Israel’s greatest strength lies in its human capital and expressed the goal of turning the country into a “global AI superpower.”
The program, led by the National Artificial Intelligence Directorate, includes investments in infrastructure, research and development, workforce planning, digital transformation of public services, and international cooperation.
Officials noted that the decision will strengthen Israel’s technological independence and support long-term economic growth and national resilience.
