Israel: Easter ceremonies in Jerusalem to be held on a limited basis
Jerusalem, April 3 (Hibya) - The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that ceremonies in Jerusalem will be held in a limited and symbolic manner for security reasons following attacks attributed to Iran.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding Easter and Holy Fire ceremonies following missile attacks targeting holy sites in Jerusalem attributed to the Iranian regime.
The statement noted that Israeli police have taken necessary measures to ensure the safety of worshippers and that preparations for the ceremonies are ongoing.
It was stated that, following coordination with Patriarch Theophilos III, Archbishop Sevan Gharibian, and Bishop Theodoros Zakarian, an agreement was reached to hold this year’s ceremonies in a limited and symbolic format.
The statement also emphasized the continued joint commitment to protecting freedom of worship and ensuring the safety of worshippers in the Old City of Jerusalem.
