Israeli Foreign Minister Saar speaks with South Sudanese counterpart Morgan
Jerusalem, May 4 (Hibya) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar congratulated South Sudanese Foreign Minister James Pitia Morgan, and the two agreed to strengthen relations between the countries and advance the cooperation framework agreement.
Israeli Foreign Minister Saar held a phone call with James Pitia Morgan, who was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan.
Saar said he congratulated Morgan on his new role, noting that regional developments and the current situation in South Sudan were discussed during the call. The parties were reported to have exchanged information on current developments in their respective regions.
The call also addressed the approval process by the Knesset of the Cooperation Framework Agreement between the two countries. Sa’ar said he would submit the agreement for government approval soon.
The parties reportedly agreed to strengthen relations and expressed a shared will to develop cooperation. Saar also invited his South Sudanese counterpart to visit Jerusalem soon.
