Italian Foreign Minister Tajani reacts to attack on UNIFIL personnel
Rome, June 4 (Hibya) - Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani expressed his sorrow over the death of a Serbian soldier in an attack on a battalion headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani made a statement following the attack against the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Minister Tajani said he was saddened by the death of a Serbian soldier in the attack and conveyed his wishes for a speedy recovery to the two injured Blue Helmets from Spain and El Salvador.
The statement emphasized that UNIFIL personnel are serving to preserve peace in the region and support local communities, while calling for the security of United Nations personnel and facilities to be ensured.
Tajani also called on all parties to refrain from violence and guarantee the safety of UN personnel.
