Trump: We have broken records in migrant detentions and deportations
Washington, June 26 (Hibya) – U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that his administration has achieved higher figures than any previous administration in migrant detentions, deportations, and the apprehension and return of individuals who entered the country illegally.
U.S. President Donald Trump said that ongoing court proceedings are delaying final deportation orders, but despite this, his administration has achieved record-breaking results.
Trump stated, “The Trump administration has reached by far the highest numbers of any president in the daily average of detentions carried out by ICE and CBP, the detention of individuals with final deportation orders, and the number of deportations over the past 12 months. The courts are significantly delaying final deportation decisions, but even that is a record. In addition, the daily number of apprehensions and returns to migrants' home countries is by far the highest. No president comes close to these figures.”
Trump also criticized several television hosts and commentators, saying, “I wish people like Shannon Bream would push back, at least a little, against hosts, commentators, and others who try to compare President Obama’s numbers with mine.”
