During the phone call with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah al Sabah, Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tajani reiterated Italy’s solidarity in the face of unacceptable attacks against Kuwait and the El Salem Base, where Italian soldiers are also stationed.

Stating that they want to increase political and economic cooperation with Gulf countries, Tajani said: "We also discussed the Strait of Hormuz and the need for diplomatic initiatives to overcome the current situation."

Tajani emphasized that Italy will continue to stand by the Gulf countries subjected to attacks, saying: "I stated that we will work with partners to reduce tensions and bring conflicts to an end."
