Katz: Israel must choose between two approaches to security policy
Jerusalem, October 27 (Hibya) - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz argued that Israel must choose between a security policy focused on offensive action and initiative and a return to a policy of control and restraint. Katz claimed that opponents of Israel, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, were concerned about his country's strength and determination.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated in a post on his social media account that Israel needed to decide between two approaches to its security policy, saying: "Today, the State of Israel must choose between two security concepts: an offensive approach, initiative and achieving decisive results, or a return to a policy of control and restraint."
Claiming that they had strengthened Israel's security to an unprecedented degree, Katz alleged that they had attacked Iran twice and eliminated threats of annihilation. Katz also maintained that they had expanded security boundaries in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza to protect Israeli communities, adding that security along the eastern border and in the Jordan Valley had been strengthened.
Katz said: "Erdogan and Israel's enemies are concerned about this strength and determination. Israeli citizens must support this approach to finish the job." Katz concluded his statement with a call for support.
