Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi held a series of bilateral meetings on the first day of the High-Level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

According to a statement from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tileuberdi met with Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orban, Moldovan Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi, Polish Foreign Minister Radostaw Sikorski, Slovenian Foreign Minister Tone Kajzer, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and El Salvador Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco. The meetings addressed current issues of bilateral cooperation, the development of political dialogue, the expansion of trade and economic ties, as well as matters on the international and regional agenda.

Tileuberdi also held separate meetings with UN Deputy Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebecca Grynspan and UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany.

The meetings discussed strengthening multilateral cooperation, enhancing the effectiveness of international institutions and developing Kazakhstan's relations with organizations within the UN system.

As part of the multilateral program, the Kazakh Foreign Minister also attended the ministerial-level meeting titled “Renewal and Focus: The UN We Need 5 Years Later.” The meeting addressed the UN's development prospects and its adaptation to contemporary global challenges.

One of the significant developments of the day was the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and the Central African Republic. The foreign ministers of the two countries signed a Joint Statement confirming their mutual interest in developing bilateral relations and cooperation on international platforms.
