Kazakhstan's Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issetov met with a delegation of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), led by Tan Dhesi, Chair of the House of Commons Defence Committee.

According to a statement from Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting with the delegation, which also included members of the House of Commons and the House of Lords of the UK Parliament, assessed opportunities to develop cooperation between the two countries.

Special attention was given to strengthening interparliamentary dialogue and implementing the recently ratified Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom.

Issetov emphasized the importance of strengthening interparliamentary ties as one of the key elements of bilateral relations. He highlighted the importance of increasing direct contacts between members of Kazakhstan's Kurultai and members of the UK Parliament, as well as holding regular exchanges of views on current issues on the bilateral and international agenda.

The parties also discussed constitutional reforms being carried out by the Head of State, while emphasizing the momentum in the Kazakhstan-United Kingdom partnership and the potential for further development of trade and economic relations.
