Lahbib: 33 patients and 118 relatives evacuated from Gaza with EU support
Brussels, February 10 (Hibya) - European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib announced that 33 patients and 118 of their relatives were evacuated from Gaza with the support of the European Union (EU).
European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated, "With EU support, 33 patients and 118 accompanying individuals were evacuated from Gaza to Ireland and Italy, as well as with transport support from Norway."
Among the evacuees was 28-day-old Hur. Lahbib stated that for Hur and all children in need of urgent medical assistance: "His life is just beginning, but he is already facing the brutality of war and a ruthless medical struggle. These are realities no child should have to experience. For Hur and all children in need of urgent medical assistance, the EU will continue to increase its support through long-term cooperation with the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and the World Health Organization (WHO)."
