Azerbaijan and the United States signed the “Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America” on February 10, 2026, in Baku. The document was signed by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and US Vice President James David Vance.

Under the agreement, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to support sovereignty, independence, and the inviolability of borders. The agreement covers regional connectivity, energy, trade, and transit projects; artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure investments; and defense and security cooperation.

Key goals of the agreement include enhancing regional trade and transit opportunities through the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and TRIPP projects, boosting energy security cooperation, and encouraging investments in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.

Security cooperation includes joint efforts in counterterrorism, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, and humanitarian mine clearance projects.

Working groups will be formed in economic, energy, connectivity, artificial intelligence, and security sectors to implement the agreement, with regular meetings at least once a year to follow up on joint projects.
