Lahbib: Concrete solutions are needed to protect humanitarian workers
Brussels, October 16 (Hibya) - European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that the second day of the conference on protecting humanitarian workers focused on concrete solutions concerning duty of care, data, psychological protection and accountability.
European Commissioner Hadja Lahbib pointed out in a statement that vests bearing the words "humanitarian aid," once considered a means of protecting humanitarian workers, can now make them targets.
Lahbib emphasized that the second day of the conference on protecting humanitarian workers should mark a shift from identifying problems to developing concrete solutions. She stated that discussions in this context addressed duty of care, data, psychological protection and accountability.
