Lahbib: We remember more than 500,000 Roma murdered during the Holocaust
Brussels, August 1 (Hibya) – European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib issued a message on the occasion of European Roma Holocaust Memorial Day.
European Commissioner Hadja Lahbib commemorated the Roma people who lost their lives during the Holocaust, emphasizing the importance of a Europe free from hatred and fear.
Highlighting the significance of the memorial day, Lahbib said: "On European Roma Holocaust Memorial Day, we remember more than 500,000 Roma murdered during the Holocaust. We carry their memory into our future."
Speaking about her vision for the future, Lahbib said: "A Europe where every child grows up free from fear. A Europe where there is no place for hatred."
Lahbib concluded her message with the words: "We will never forget."
