Lazzarini: The war must be stopped immediately
New York, March 12 (Hibya) – Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), stated that the endless cycles of war have once again led to the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of people in Lebanon and the complete destruction of villages and neighborhoods.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini noted that the endless cycles of war have once again caused hundreds of thousands of people in Lebanon to be forcibly displaced from their homes and villages and neighborhoods to be completely destroyed.
Lazzarini said that the Lebanese people, already struggling with severe hardships and exhausted by previous wars, need security and stability, stating:
“For Palestinian refugees, this represents yet another blow, adding fear, destruction and chaos to already fragile communities. The war must be stopped immediately. Civilians must be protected. Essential services must be preserved.”
