Commissioner-General Lazzarini noted that every year on this day, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is celebrated, and UNRWA renews its commitment to Palestinian refugees.

Lazzarini emphasized that in Gaza, where people are struggling to survive in one of the most brutal wars in modern history, the agency continues to provide life-saving aid and shelter support, stating:

“Across the region, we provide primary healthcare and education to millions of refugees. This day reminds us that solidarity only matters when it turns into action.”

Lazzarini added: “This means coming together to end the war and advancing toward a just political solution that will finally bring peace and stability to the region. This can only be achieved by addressing the challenges faced by Palestinian refugees.”
