Wong held a meeting with Cooper and Anand
Canberra, March 5 (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced that during a joint meeting with her counterparts from the United Kingdom and Canada, they agreed on full coordination to support citizens in the Middle East and address travel disruptions.
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong intensified diplomatic contacts due to rising tensions in the Middle East and for the safety of citizens in the region.
Providing details of the meeting, Wong said: “This morning I held a joint meeting with Yvette Cooper from the United Kingdom and Anita Anand from Canada. We agreed to ensure close coordination in supporting our citizens in the Middle East.”
Noting that efforts continue to assist Australians stranded due to transportation restrictions and flight cancellations in the region, Wong added: “We continue to do everything we can to support Australians affected by travel disruptions.”
