Wellington, March 23 (Hibya) - New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon stated that the government is working swiftly to ease the pressure on citizens caused by the sharp rise in fuel prices.
New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon shared the government’s roadmap regarding the impact of global economic uncertainty on the domestic market and rising fuel prices.
Highlighting the effect of increasing costs on citizens, Luxon said: “Sharp rises in petrol prices are putting pressure on many New Zealanders. The government is working quickly to support those most in need and we will provide more details soon.”
Outlining the limits of fiscal policy, Luxon stated: “Any support we provide will be carefully targeted, timely and temporary, because every dollar we spend must ultimately be repaid by taxpayers.”
