Macron: France–Sweden defense cooperation is strengthening
Paris, May 19 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Sweden’s selection of the Naval Group frigate demonstrates the strengthening of strategic trust and defense cooperation between the two countries.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Sweden had selected Naval Group’s defense and intervention frigate as part of the modernization of its navy.
Macron thanked Sweden and highlighted the trust shown in France, stating that this is an important indicator of the strategic cooperation between the two countries.
In his statement, Macron also recalled that France had chosen Saab’s Global Eye system, saying that these steps reflect mutual trust.
Macron emphasized that the partnership between France and Sweden has strengthened in recent years and has extended to cooperation in the field of advanced deterrence.
Stating that they support the vision of a strong and sovereign Europe within NATO, Macron said that common defense is being built every day.
