In his speech, President Trump said, "In every generation, the heroes of the United States Coast Guard have lived by a creed built on honor, courage, and sacrifice; that creed has defied every storm, every shipwreck, and every enemy attack, and in the hour of need, our Coast Guardsmen have brought hope to the hopeless and rescued the innocent from the jaws of a raging sea."
