Minister Tsahkna and Ambassador Mortimer meet
Tallinn, March 3 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna met with Australia’s newly appointed Ambassador Edmund Mortimer to discuss security, sanctions and technological cooperation.
During an introductory meeting in Tallinn with Australian Ambassador Edmund Mortimer, Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna emphasized the need to strengthen ties between the two countries.
Regarding the focus of the meeting, Tsahkna said: “In our discussion, we concentrated on strengthening security and economic ties, with particular emphasis on maritime security, sanctions policy and holding Russia accountable for its aggression in Ukraine.”
Referring to the two countries’ shared goals in technology and cybersecurity, Tsahkna added: “As like-minded partners, Estonia and Australia are actively exploring new opportunities for closer cooperation in innovation, digital development and cybersecurity.”
