In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index fell 1.02 percent to 65,623.36 points, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index declined 1.75 percent to 25,463.51 points.
In India, the Nifty 50 index traded at 24,615.40 points, down 0.04 percent, while China's Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.01 percent to 3,878.92 points.
In Australia, the ASX 200 index increased 0.35 percent to 9,259.90 points.
