Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi made important remarks on maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz following his meeting in Tehran with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Albusaidi said they held constructive consultations with Araghchi and expressed hope that practical arrangements for a temporary corridor and safe navigation would be announced soon to ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

Albusaidi said that regarding the future management of the strait and a permanent solution, the necessary steps would be pursued in due course in accordance with Article 5 of the Islamabad Agreement.

Albusaidi also emphasized that consultations with regional partners would continue on the basis of peace and cooperation. He said the main objective of these talks is to strengthen regional stability and guarantee freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
