Pakistan and Bulgaria hold 6th round of political consultations
Islamabad, July 7 (Hibya) - Pakistan and Bulgaria discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in various fields, particularly bilateral relations, trade, economy, defense, culture, education, and people-to-people contacts.
The 6th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Bulgaria was held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Ambassador Ayesha Ali, Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe, while the Bulgarian delegation was headed by Ambassador Petko Doykov, Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The two sides conducted a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and discussed enhancing political contacts, expanding trade and economic ties, and strengthening cooperation in the fields of defense, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international developments, as well as discussions on opportunities for cooperation within multilateral platforms.
The consultations were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to maintaining regular dialogue and further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The previous round of Pakistan-Bulgaria political consultations was held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, on April 11, 2023.
Head of the Bulgarian delegation Ambassador Petko Doykov also met with Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch. During the meeting, Pakistan shared its assessment of regional developments, particularly its approach to its mediation role in the United States-Iran conflict.
