Pakistan rejects claims by Afghan Taliban administration
Islamabad, October 26 (Hibya) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has rejected the claims made by the Afghan Taliban administration regarding counter-terrorism operations, stating that the country will exercise its right to self-defense against terrorist attacks.
The Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed as baseless and unfounded the claims by the Afghan Taliban administration that civilians were harmed during Pakistan's counter-terrorism operations.
In a statement issued by the ministry, attention was drawn to the threat posed by terrorist networks operating from Afghan soil, and it was stated that the Afghan Taliban administration has failed to fulfill its responsibility to prevent these groups from launching attacks against Pakistan.
The statement noted that more than 3,500 people lost their lives in attacks targeting Pakistan in 2026. It was claimed that the Taliban administration provides safe havens to organizations such as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), al-Qaeda-linked groups, and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the country cannot remain passive in the face of repeated attacks targeting civilians and security forces.
The statement also conveyed that Pakistan's actions against terrorist attacks are carried out within the framework of the right to self-defense, in line with the principles of necessity and last resort. It was argued that Pakistan's actions targeting terrorists and their logistical support bases in Afghanistan are proportionate to the threat.
