Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrabi, made a statement regarding Pakistani citizens detained in Cambodia.

The statement noted that Cambodia accepted the early repatriation of 54 Pakistani citizens held in Siem Reap province.

It was stated that the individuals were detained following an operation targeting a fraud center.

It was also conveyed that Pakistan’s Embassy in Cambodia is following the matter in coordination with local authorities and necessary steps have been taken regarding the detainees.

The statement said that the repatriation process will take place after flight arrangements are completed.

It was noted that Cambodian authorities approved the repatriation without initiating any legal proceedings under the “Online Fraud Prevention Law” that has entered into force.
