Pakistan's Foreign Minister Dar speaks with UN Secretary-General candidate Bachelet
Islamabad, July 14 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that United Nations Secretary-General candidate Michelle Bachelet held a telephone conversation with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

During the conversation, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, stating that respect for international law and international agreements forms the foundation of the global order.
Highlighting the United Nations' critical role in the global development agenda, Dar said the organization should continue to remain responsive to the needs of developing countries.
Dar also stressed the importance of resolving international disputes peacefully in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions to achieve sustainable global peace. In this context, he called for accelerated efforts to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as well as the Palestinian issue.
Bachelet, in turn, praised Pakistan's efforts to preserve regional peace and stability, stating that the country's longstanding contributions within the United Nations have been valuable to the international community.
