Palestine: We condemn the decision of the Republic of Fiji to move its embassy to Jerusalem
Ramallah, February 18 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the decision of the Republic of Fiji to move its embassy to occupied Jerusalem, considering it a violation of international law and an attack on the Palestinian people.
In a statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the decision of Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka to move the country’s embassy to occupied Jerusalem was strongly condemned.
The statement pointed out that this decision makes Fiji the seventh country to violate international law and clear UN resolutions regarding the Holy City, its legal and political status, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people:
"The Ministry affirms that it will continue to take the necessary political, diplomatic, and legal measures to prosecute countries that have opened or moved their embassies to Jerusalem for their unjust attacks on our people and their rights, and calls on the Government of Fiji to immediately retract this decision."
