Ramallah, August 12 (Hibya) - Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian Shahin bid farewell to Czech Republic Representative Jakob Slusarek, who completed his term of duty in Palestine.

According to a statement by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, First Counselor Ghada Arafat and the Director of the Europe Department also attended the meeting held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Minister Shahin expressed her appreciation for the work carried out by Slusarek during his term in Palestine. Shahin thanked Czechia in particular for grant and development projects in Beit Jala and Beit Sahour, cooperation with the Red Cross, support for the health sector and humanitarian assistance.
Emphasizing the importance of strengthening the political dimension of Palestinian-Czech relations, Shahin noted that, in addition to Czechia’s humanitarian support, its positions and votes in international forums in favor of the rights of the Palestinian people are also important.
Shahin expressed hope that this support would contribute to achieving peace and stability in the region.
Jakob Slusarek, for his part, expressed his satisfaction at having served his country in Palestine and voiced appreciation for the cooperation he received from Minister Shahin and the ministry team.
Slusarek emphasized the importance of increasing official visits and organizing consultation meetings in order to further develop relations between the two sides in the future.
