Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomes UN report
Ramallah, June 23 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that it welcomed the report of the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry regarding the targeting of Palestinian children.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated that it welcomed the UN report concerning the targeting of Palestinian children.
In its statement, the ministry said the report constitutes an international document exposing the humanitarian tragedy faced by children in the occupied Palestinian territories since October 7, 2023, and contains serious legal evidence regarding violations committed against children by Israeli forces and settler groups.
The statement highlighted the significance of the report’s findings that Israel has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinian people, particularly children, stressing that “the international community must act urgently and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.”
The ministry also called for the protection of Palestinian children, an end to ongoing violations, and the implementation of international legal decisions, arguing that the international community’s inaction strengthens a climate of impunity.
