Qatar calls for joint action on Gulf security
Doha, September 7 (Hibya) - Qatar's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari assessed Gulf security and the global implications of the regional crisis at the Hili Forum 2026 held in Abu Dhabi.
Qatar's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari said developments in the Gulf affect energy, trade, maritime transport and global supply chains, adding: "Gulf security is a shared responsibility."
Al Ansari said that closing the Strait of Hormuz and disrupting maritime transport would have consequences not only for the economy but also for global security, and called for stronger diplomacy, collective security and cooperation among countries in the region.
