Tallinn, September 7 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna discussed regional security and cooperation between the two countries with his Icelandic counterpart Porgerour Katrin Gunnarsdottir.

In a statement regarding the meeting, Tsahkna highlighted the strong relations between Estonia and Iceland, saying: "Its unique role in the North Atlantic and the Arctic is vital to the security of our region and our transatlantic ties."
The meeting also covered deepening cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries, support for Ukraine and regional security issues. Tsahkna recalled that Iceland was the first country to recognize Estonia's restoration of independence in 1991.
