According to CCTV, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari announced that US Special Envoys for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are in Doha but will not hold direct talks with Iranian officials.

Al-Ansari said the US delegation would meet with mediators to review the implementation of the memorandum of understanding previously signed between Washington and Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said on Tuesday that there were no plans for direct negotiations with US officials.

Iran is also expected to hold talks with Qatar on Wednesday, during which frozen Iranian assets will be among the issues discussed.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday that any possible agreement must be based on mutual commitments, adding that Iran would fulfill its obligations if the United States complies with the agreement.

The Iranian president also stressed that Iran has responded to "unreasonable boasting and baseless threats" with rational decision-making and determined, fearless legitimate self-defense. Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18 to end the regional war on all fronts, including Lebanon.

Technical talks between Iran and the United States began in Switzerland on June 22, following high-level consultations between Iranian and US delegations held the previous day with the mediation of Pakistan and Qatar.
