Russia says French military instructors in Ukraine will be "legitimate targets"
Stockholm, June 5 (Hibia) – Making a statement after Kyiv allowed instructors to come from France to support its soldiers, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that any French military instructor in Ukraine would be a "legitimate target" for the Russian armed forces.
During his African tour, Lavrov made this statement at a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Congo, Jean Claude Gakosso.
Referring to the military instructors that France may send to train Ukrainian troops, Lavrov said: “As for the French instructors, I think they are already on Ukrainian territory. "Regardless of their status, military officials or mercenaries are a legitimate target for our armed forces," he said.
In Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said, "The instructors who train the Kyiv regime's troops do not have any immunity, and it does not matter whether they are French or not."
