Saar: Hamas is trying to replicate the "Hezbollah model" in Gaza
Jerusalem, July 6 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar argued that Hamas's position on establishing a technocratic government in Gaza is a strategy aimed at preserving the group's armed structure.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar argued that Hamas's stance on establishing a technocratic government in Gaza is intended to preserve the organization's military structure.
Saar claimed that Hamas's apparent willingness to make room for a technocratic administration is aimed at preventing the group's disarmament.
Claiming that Hamas seeks to establish what he described as the "Hezbollah model" in Gaza, Saar argued that under this model a civilian administration would handle day-to-day services while Hamas would retain effective military control. He stated: "As long as Hamas keeps its weapons, any civilian government would naturally operate according to Hamas's dictates. This allows Hamas to continue oppressing the Palestinian people in Gaza while simultaneously continuing its jihadist war against Israel. Israel insists on the full implementation of the Trump plan, whose core principles are the disarmament of Hamas and all other terrorist organizations, and the complete military demilitarization of the Gaza Strip."
