Saar: I remember Lehi founder Avraham Stern on his anniversary of death
Jerusalem, February 12 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar issued a memorial message on the 84th anniversary of the killing of Avraham (Yair) Stern, the founder of the underground Lehi organization.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, in a statement marking the anniversary of the death of Avraham Stern, the founder and commander of the Lehi organization, shared Stern’s vision for the Israeli people.
Saar said, "On the 84th anniversary of the killing of Lehi’s founder and commander, Avraham (Yair) Stern."
Saar emphasized that the Israeli people are special, stating: “The Israeli people are a special people; creators of the religion of unity; legislators of the ethics of the prophets; carriers of world culture; great in tradition and spiritual connection; strong in the will to live and the ability to withstand; in the light of their spirit, and in their belief in redemption.”
Referring to Stern's multifaceted personality, Saar concluded his statement with: "Soldier and poet. Dreamer and warrior. Safra and Sipa. May his soul rest in peace."
